Writing Requirements for Product Sustainability and Resilience provide attendees with a strong foundation in crafting high-quality requirements which consider a broader environmental context for their product’s development, use, and disposal. We will introduce systems-thinking tools to capture and analyze critical criteria for product longevity and resilience. Participants will gain experience applying those tools through in-class exercises, as well as their own products in a 1-hour lab. The course will also include engaging discussions on the intersection of engineered and ecological systems, along with real-world case studies that showcase how ecology informed sustainability can be embedded from the outset.
This course is designed for product development engineers, product and program managers, quality engineers, and sustainability-minded professionals who interact with the stakeholders and requirements sets for product or systems under development. No prerequisites are required, however, you will need a computer with a large screen or external monitor, as well as document-software (e.g., Office, GoogleDocs, etc) to use templates provided during the course.
